Panelist — "Options for Working Women"
Jennifer has spent her almost 20-year career as a recruiter in a variety of industries, the last 5 in the Life Sciences industry here in Austin; she was the first Recruiting Manager at Luminex Corporation and is currently a Sr. Recruiter with the neuromodulation business unit of Abbott, formerly St. Jude Medical. Jennifer’s interest in “leveling the playing field” in the corporate world led her to establish a global employee resource group focused on Disability awareness and acceptance at Johnson Controls. She brought this passion to Luminex Corporation where she worked with leadership to establish Women@Luminex, an employee resource group to harness the power and influence of female employees throughout the world.
Jennifer was raised by a very strong mother and a father who had no idea how to raise a girl – so he raised her to stand up straight, put her shoulders back and never believe it when someone told her she couldn’t do something because she was a girl. Today she has excellent posture and still believes that “anything boys can do, girls can do better.”
