About her Talk, "Driving through Glass Ceilings: Owning Your Destiny"

Next stop: Success! Join Shelley on her road trip of a lifetime (literally!) as she navigates life’s detours, road blocks, and expressways to the ULTIMATE destination: driving through that damn glass ceiling!

Speaking as a serial business builder, proud veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps, wife, mother, and grandmother, Shelley’s deeply personal account of her own journey to success will cover the generations-wide, nagging convictions that far too many women find themselves up against – or worse – buying into in both business and in life.

Any of these sound familiar?

* “You should just stay here in this small Midwestern town and do what your mother did.”

* “That’s a man’s job, sweetie.”

* “Will anyone take you seriously?”

* “But don’t you want kids someday?”

* “Doesn’t it bother your husband that you’re working so much?”

* And, Shelley’s personal favorite, “YOU drive a tractor trailer?!?” (true story)

Together, you’ll traverse the rocky terrain of difficult decisions, family trials, blissful milestones, and even some straight-up luck. So, buckle in and grab your aviators, because the future is here and it is bright!
